Closed Circuit
UNL faculty and staff can order videotapes for playback or schedule satellite
teleconferences to be fed directly into their classrooms via the closed
circuit system. In order to receive a playback or teleconference in the
classroom, the room must be wired for closed circuit television. A listing
of all classrooms on both campuses wired for closed circuit programming
is provided from UNL Video Services. There is no charge for placing a
program on the closed circuit system.
Satellite Teleconferences
UNL Video Services provides satellite teleconferencing coordination for
the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This unit alerts faculty and staff
to teleconferences, assists with teleconference requests, and processes
satellite information. Satellite teleconferences are available in every
subject area. If you are interested in a particular topic or hear of a
teleconference in your field, please contact us. Registration fees for
teleconferences vary depending on the organization presenting the program.
Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) charges a small hourly fee
for downlinking the program via satellite. UNL Video Services can also
assist you if you wish to initiate a satellite teleconference.
It is recommended
that you make sure the closed circuit connection you want to use is working
properly.
