Title:   " Paralyzing Fear, A: The Story of Polio in America "

This film traces the battle against polio from illness to epidemic to cure. The arrival of polio on American shores in 1916 marked the beginning of long “polio summers” that infected and crippled thousands of children each year. Finally, after a long, grassroots fight against the disease, Dr. Jonas Salk’s vaccine brought the epidemic to a halt. This film brings to life an America that believed in its scientists, its government and, most of all, in its children.
